New Unit - Who am I to judge?

Dear Parents,

We're back to another half term now and with some wonderful presentations last week on the previous unit accomplished, we can look ahead to our new Unit of Inquiry. It is called 'Who am I to judge?' and will be covering such issues as racism, prejudice, stereotypes, perception and the way we can communicate sensitively.

I would like again to ask for your involvement in this unit. The children will be asked to reserach stereotypes of their own nationalities as seen by others and you can help them with this.

We will also be tying this unit into our Literacy by looking at poems dealing with the issue of identity and labelling. If there are any poems or sayings from your culture that would be relevant here please do send them in with the children.

Thank you for your good wishes while I was ill last week and sorry to have missed the presenations - I would love to see the videos/photos if you captured it on film.

Look forward to seeing many of you at Parent's Evening this Thurs (the time slots were given to your children today) and again on international Day on March 20th which is not so far away!

Keep checking on here for updates....keep well...

Ms Fatema
